To stimulate the interest of Geography teachers and students in developing an inquiry-based approach in teaching and learning of Geography through images of natural and cultural landscapes, GTA will be organising a photography competition for 2011.

Entries are to be submitted digitally at GTA’s facebook page (http://www.facebook.com/pages/Geography-Teachers-Association-of-Singapore/240474459310854) by 15 Dec 11. The judging criteria will comprise of photographic quality (40%) and relevance of the photograph to Geography education with a focus on an inquiry-based approach to teaching and learning of Geography (60%).

The winning entry will receive a book voucher of $200. Another 5 merit winners will receive a book voucher of $20 each. For further details, please refer to attached.

GEObuzz 2012 is calling out for contributions by educators to share teaching tips with others in the education community! The contribution will be featured on the last page entitled 'A Guru's Bag O' Tricks'.
 
A new publication of the GTA with its inaugural issue in 2011, GEObuzz seeks to be provide a summative platform for GTA members and teachers to stay informed with regards to GTA events and trends in geographical scholarship and education in schools. Length of contribution: 250 words (maximum)
Format: Prose, Poetry or Acronyms
 
A sample of contribution:
Teach the child (not the subject)
